Our Review
The BluMole Extreme 5-piece bi-metal holesaw kit delivers solid mid-range performance for framing and electrical work. The bi-metal construction handles both wood and light metal drilling without chipping, and the included arbor feels sturdy enough for repeated 1/2" drill chucks. I appreciated the pilot bits staying sharp through 40+ holes in pressure-treated lumber. However, the lack of depth stops on larger saws (2-3/8" and up) forced me to use tape markers on job sites. At moderate speeds (600-1200 RPM), these cut cleanly without binding, though I noticed the 2" saw wandered slightly in hard maple. Build quality is respectable—the steel arbor won't strip, and the cases organize reasonably well. For occasional homeowner use or small contractor projects, this kit punches above its $45-50 price point.
What We Like
- Bi-metal construction handles ferrous metals and hardwoods without dulling quickly
- Solid arbor design resists chuck slippage under sustained drilling pressure
- Affordable entry-level kit with five most-used sizes for general carpentry
Watch Out For
- No integrated depth gauges on larger saws creates alignment challenges
- Pilot bits dull noticeably after extended use in dense materials
The Verdict
“A reliable budget kit for weekend warriors and small jobs, but professional crews will outgrow it within a season.”
